The Detail Docs Mobile Detailing is a premium mobile car care company specializing in interior and exterior detailing, paint correction, and vehicle appearance services throughout the Champaign, IL area.
We're looking for a Lead Detailer to take ownership of day-to-day jobs on the ground while the owners focus on growing the business.
This is not a typical entry-level detailing position. You'll be responsible for leading jobs on-site, setting the quality bar for the team, and making sure every customer gets a five-star experience.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee detailing jobs from start to finish.
- Train and mentor newer detailers on technique and standards.
- Ensure every vehicle meets company quality standards before it's handed back to the customer.
- Handle on-site customer communication and resolve issues in real time.
- Help manage the daily job schedule and route efficiency for mobile appointments.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and truck inventory.
- Flag efficiency issues and suggest process improvements to ownership.
- Hold the team accountable to time and quality standards on every job.
- Report job status and any issues back to ownership regularly.
What Success Looks Like:
- Jobs completed on time and done right the first time.
- Five-star customer experiences and reviews.
- Strong team accountability on-site.
- Fewer quality issues or redo requests.
- Minimal owner involvement needed on routine jobs.
Qualifications:
- Previous detailing experience required; leadership or training experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
- Excellent communication, especially with customers.
- Ability to solve problems independently on-site.
- Valid driver's license (this is a mobile service, travel to job sites required).
- Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet for extended periods.
Compensation:
- 18-25+ an hour.
